Super Bowl Monday

Posted by Brian on February 5, 2006

Tomorrow is the big day: Seahawks vs. Steelers for the title of Greatest Football Team in the Cosmos. I got a bet going with Drambuie Man that the ‘hawks will win by 6, and my own super-biased prediction for the final score is Seahawks 20, Steelers 13.

To celebrate the event, a friend will be coming over for a early Monday morning Super Bowl party… but instead of beer and chips, we’re having pancakes.

Shout-out to another Seahawk fan based in Korea.

A bunch of football experts – along with some guys that think Pittsburgh will win – are making their predictions here.

The top-notch Seattle sports writer Art Thiel has a great article on the lack of respect given to the Seahawks here.

If you’re on the fence, here are some more reasons to support the Seattle team:

  • If the Seahawks win, you’ll be spared any and all “Hines Ward is the first Korean player to win a Super Bowl” article.
  • Condoleeza Rice is picking the Steelers to win, and we all know how good her prognosticating skills are (but then, I picked John Kerry to win; glass houses and all that).
  • America loves an underdog. The Steelers organization is a storied one, with several Super Bowl wins and 19 Hall of Famers (Seahawks have one: Steve Largent).

Boasting aside, I’m sure it’s gonna be a heck of a game. Best of luck to the other side.

Feel free to comment with your own predictions for the game.

I’m from Cleveland and thereby a die-hard Browns fan (yeah, I know, I know) and as such, I hope the hated Steelers get their collective asses handed to them.

I say (hope, pray) 35-21, Seahawks.

  2. […] As much as I want to support the Seahawks (because a win by them would add some legitimacy to the Niners that only lost to the Seahawks by 2 points and are in the same division), my head tells me that any team who can only beat the Niners by 2 has no chance of winning the Superbowl. […]
