Good News!

Posted by Brian on February 14, 2007

I received my letter of acceptance from the Seattle University grad school program today. I’ll be a student in their Student Development Administration program starting in September. Until then, I need to work, so I’ll be returning to Korea in a few weeks to work for 5 months and then come back to the states.

Congratulations Brian. Very exciting. What’s the program about? I can’t really get a handle on it by the title.

HEre’s a description for the program from Seattle U’s website:

The Student Development Administration program prepares students for professional administrative careers in a wide array of college student affairs/services positions at both two- and four-year public and private colleges and universities. Student development specialties for which this degree prepares students include college admissions, career development, student housing, academic advising, student activities, financial aid, student union, recreational sports, new student programs, advising for international students and domestic students of color, along with a variety of other specialized educational programs.

My goal is to become an academic advisor for students at a community college, preferably working with international students. I’m pretty excited about this new direction in my life.
